We are Movement On The Ground, a foundation responding to a humanitarian crisis affecting the innocent men, women and children forced from their homes by climate change, poverty and war. Movement On The Ground sets a new blueprint for humanitarian help worldwide.
We are a group of independent business people, creatives and companies who were each in their own way, touched by the crisis and called to action. Whether it was in the national debate, in the Netherlands, about the effect of the crisis locally, or the immediate response to the arrival of refugees at Amsterdam Central station, or because of first-hand experience visiting Lesvos, all of us were called to do more and give more. The simple act of giving inspired us to think bigger.
Through social media we were able to connect with those on the ground and build a relationship with the groups working to ensure safe passages on Lesvos. Our personal networks were ignited to see where direct help was needed in order to supply a direct response.
In November 2015 we, as a collective, were able to donate much-needed items to help winter-proof some of the transit camps on the island. We donated lights, heaters, tents, crowd management assets as well as items to support the medical, search and rescue teams on the coast. That was just the beginning. Over the years, we have initiated many more projects to help the current crisis on Lesvos.
While we have been successful in initiating various projects to help improve the lives of the people residing in our campUS’s, as well as help create a calmer atmosphere for Lesvos locals, we still have a long way to go!

Our entire Movement could not be possible without our inspiring team on the ground. This team consists of volunteers who have devoted their time and energy to make sure each project on Lesvos runs as smoothly and calmly as possible. Our team on the ground wakes up every single day with a purpose to help those in need.
We cannot begin to thank our entire team who turn our plans into action. It all starts with you.
Any contribution helps us in our mission to create a more dignified and innovative response to the refugee crisis.
