Looking back over the last week and a few moments of connectivity we shared with the communities we work with and for on the Greek islands.

In Athens last week, the teenage boys in Nisos experienced a journey to the asteroids and comets of our solar system at Digital Planetarium of Eugenides Foundation. These children had the opportunity to explore the origin of Earth and the emergence of life on our planet.
Also in Athens, the teenage girls in Daphne went creative and fashionable, developing their own unique sense of fashion. Big shoutout to fellow organisation Because We Carry who helped take care of the girls on this relaxing in-house spa day!
On Lesvos this week, we met with Nader. A 67-year-old Afghan resident who didn't give up his passion for sports. In this humble yet smart outdoor gym he put in place, he continues to practice weightlifting, looking after his own wellbeing.
Also on Lesvos, we met with Salami. Another Afghan resident who stepped up to make the camp a cleaner place. He walks from tent to tent looking for and collecting all plastic bottle laying around then sends them for sorting and recycling every day.
Last week we also bid farewell to Rabiaa. A 13-year-old Syrian resident who has been on Lesvos together with his mom and three sisters for over two years. The family was relocated to Athens where they will continue to wait for a decision regarding their asylum claim. All his friends came by to say goodbye and wish him all the best. Rabiaa, The Movement Team wishes you the best of luck for the years to come!
