Looking back over the last week and a few moments of connectivity we shared with the communities we work with and for on the Greek islands.

Last week, the teenage boys in Nisos received a visit from the barber who offered them all a special haircut - for some, a special hairstyle on demand. Nisos is one of the 'Homes' we run together with The HOME Project in Athens in an effort to provide a safe and healing environment for unaccompanied minors on the move.
On Lesvos this week, together with our team of community and visiting volunteers and with thanks to support from fellow organisation Zaporeak, we distributed milk packs to the community residents to help them stay hydrated during the long hot summer days.
On Samos this week, our team of community and visiting volunteers have been setting up a community space in Vathy camp. A shaded area that can help reduce the risk of sunstroke and give the residents a protected space to gather and connect.
On Chios this week, the community welcomed 'Little Amal', the living artwork of a young Syrian child who had started her 8000km journey all the way from the Syrian-Turkish border to the United Kingdom. In light of Chios Music Festival and with thanks to support from Metadrasi and UNHCR, our team of community and visiting volunteers set up the Kalostea space to welcome her and celebrate, once again, the resilience and hope of the Vial camp community.
On Lesvos, the FutbolNet sessions powered by our partner Barça Foundation have restarted this week after having been put on hold during the extreme heatwave that hit Greece earlier this month.
