Join the movement: In solidarity with people on the move

Stories

In light of this year’s #WorldRefugeeDay2021, we at Movement On The Ground will dedicate the next week to amplifying the voices and showcase the skills, talents and resilience of people in waiting.

In the lead up to Sunday the 20th June, we will continue to shed needed light on the fundamental rights of refugees and their hopes for a safer, brighter future. Through a series of activities taking place both online and offline on both the Greek islands and in The Netherlands, we want to generate more awareness and mobilise European leaders to recognise the fundamental need for a ‘safer’ home for every human on the move.

Over the next week we will be sharing the stories of the resilient communities we work with and for. We will also highlight a series of different projects and initiatives happening across Europe in support of refugee rights. And this Sunday, together with Dutch artist @dadara, we will unveil a specially-created mural at @TSHAmsterdam in light of World Refugee Day. This initiative will unite those willing to ‘raise their hands’ in support of a world without borders.

This week, let’s join together, as humans, and raise our hands and voices for people on the move.  It is only through solidarity that we will be able to work towards sustainable change with and for communities on the move. Together let’s journey towards a more humane Europe.
