“It is easy to be a good human who brings happiness to other humans, to the community, to the world” - Neda, a 14-year-old girl from Afghanistan and a special sports volunteer in Kara Tepe.

Neda was only two years old when she and her family were forced from their home. She may not recall the dire circumstances that thrust them thousands of miles away from a home they’ve always cherished and from friends they’ve always loved. Though she recognises it all, in the silent eyes of her mother.

While on the wait, Neda is dedicating her time to help the children with special needs within Kara Tepe’s campUs.

“My biggest dream is to be able to help all the children in the world, especially those who lost their family. Children are vulnerable and need our love and support” she said. "With Movement On The Ground, I was able to at least help the community’s children believe that there are still humans who care, in this world”.

Neda has many plans for the future. So many. First, she wants to become a mathematician. She adores mathematics. But Neda is also keen on studying journalism to advocate for human rights and let their voices be heard. She may be a journalist by nature. Because Neda listens, observes, cares and above all, she dares. “She is smart, strong and very sensitive at the same time and she never lets go, since she was a little girl” said Neda’s mother.

Like tens of other girls and boys on the wait, Neda promised herself, her family and us that she will keep trying hard to achieve her goals whilst having all the fun she wants. All the fun every child deserves. Be it within or outside the campUs. “Seriousness doesn’t always help, it complicates things. Let’s learn, play, laugh and have fun as long as we’re alive”, reiterated Neda.
