Nazdar has been living in Kara Tepe with her parents and 6 siblings for over a year now. As Yazidi minorities, her family and community were targeted by ISIS and they were forced to flee their home in Shingal, Iraq in 2014 when the city was captured by the terrorist organisation.
Despite everything Nazdar has been through, she is one of the most active and enthusiastic volunteers we have. She’s an inspiring example of the resilience of women in Kara Tepe. We made a short video to tell her story!
