About us

We are Movement On The Ground. We are an organisation of real, genuine and motivated humans responding to a humanitarian crisis affecting the innocent men, women and children forced from their homes.

We believe everyone, no matter who you are or where you're from, should live in a healing and self-sustaining environment. We dream of a world where people forced from their homes have the freedom to choose another place to call home.

We stand with and for people on the move. We build bridges with the local communities where we work. We want to transform refugee camps into safe, healing and enabling environments with our Camp to campUS philosophy. We want to change the public perception of what it means to be a 'refugee'. We want to drive sustainable change with and for people on the move. Ultimately, we want to help pave the way for people on the move to integrate into their future society.

We are still small and we don't have all the answers, but we do fill in the humanitarian gaps whenever and wherever is most needed.

We are determined to enable communities to thrive.
We are Movement On The Ground.

Founded by a group of independent business people and creatives who were touched by the European migration crisis and called to action, Movement On The Ground has evolved into a team of like-minded individuals determined to bring change to humanitarian aid.

Based in Amsterdam with a fixed presence on Lesvos, Samos and in Athens, our team collectively live and breath the Movement mentality to help and connect people.

Do you want to be part of a team of caring, ambitious, like-minded people determined to bring change to humanitarian aid? Come and join our team!
